My passion for technology started early — from building LEGO sets to tuning mopeds. When I began job hunting in 1993, I was looking for a company with a down-to-earth Twente mindset, global projects, and a rich history. That’s when HITEC immediately stood out.
I started as a Project Engineer and quickly took on technical responsibility for large international projects, including a NATO assignment involving 11 satellite stations across 11 NATO countries. It’s incredible to work for a company with such a global impact. What continues to amaze me is that, as a medium-sized company, we genuinely make a difference! We sit at the table with customers like Micron, Intel, TSMC, KPN, and major U.S. data centers — all of whom trust us with their mission-critical processes. It’s our job to ensure those processes never go dark.
What I still appreciate every day is the combination of HITEC’s international scope with the no-nonsense mentality of Twente. We work hard, expect a lot from one another, and communicate openly and honestly. The size of the organization feels just right: not too small for global challenges, and not too big to make you feel like just a number.
Over the past 32 years, I’ve had the opportunity to take on various roles and grow tremendously. Today, I’m enjoying my work as a System Specialist in the R&D department, acting as a “total solution provider” and optimizing system configurations to meet evolving market needs.
Even after all these years, I’m still proud to be part of HITEC — and I’m looking forward to many more years of working alongside such dedicated colleagues. So take the plunge, and experience for yourself what makes HITEC truly special!
HITEC combines global reach with the down-to-earth mentality of Twente. We work hard, communicate openly, and stay engaged. Big enough to take on the world, yet small enough that you’re never just a number.
